Accomplishment #2: Ready Educators
Improving quality in early education and care
Our Ready Educators strategy encompassed initiatives to move Boston’s early care and education programs to the highest quality. Using child outcomes to drive program improvement and supporting innovative models from design to implementation.
To achieve this, we invested in two demonstration projects:
1.) Boston K1 in Diverse Settings (Boston K1DS) – A three-year demonstration project to expand Boston Public School’s nationally-recognized pre-K program to 14 community-based preschool classrooms.
2.) Ready Educators Quality Improvement Pilot (REQIP) – A new approach to quality improvement that linked program-level quality improvement efforts to areas where data indicate that children and programs need additional support.
