Thrive in 5 is partnering with local organization to implement the following strategies:
Boston Children Thrive: Connecting Families, Building Community (BCT) is mobilizing entire communities to empower their families with the skills knowledge, confidence and well being they need to be leaders in their children’s healthy development.
The Online Advocate, a web-based screening and resource referral tool, is being enhanced for families with young children so that providers, and families themselves, have access to a centralized, comprehensive, up-to-date tool that connects families with health care, housing, food & income security, and other needed services.
Parent Leadership Project is being developed to build parents’ capacity to be leaders in their young children’s education through a 10-week learning experience, structured leadership roles, and a support network. Graduating parents will have an improved ability to navigate systems, effectively advocate for their children and organize for education reform.
Coffee & Communications convenes and coordinates Boston’s public education campaigns that provide young children’s parents, caregivers and other providers with information about early childhood development, school readiness, and parenting.
